Online Poker New Jersey

New Jersey is one of the few American states where online gambling, including poker, is legal. Whilst the vast majority of online states continue the online gambling ban, New Jersey remains a beacon of hope to American’s eager to wager online. With around nine million residents in the state of New Jersey, there’s a large pool of potential gamblers.

Not only does New Jersey offer online gambling. But it’s been thriving with hundreds of millions of dollars wagered. Sports betting is particularly popular with records being set regularly. For poker players, there’s more good news. You are not limited to one or two poker rooms. There’s a decent variety around, three of which will be showcased below. Before we get into that though, let’s get take a look at the legalities and rules surrounding what is legal in New Jersey.

What Are the Gambling Laws in New Jersey?

There’s a lot of reading material on the state of New Jersey division of gaming enforcement page. The two main points are below:

  1. You must be at least 21 years old to gamble online
  2. You don’t need to be a resident of New Jersey to gamble online. As long as you are physically within the state of New Jersey, you are eligible.

Most of the regulations around gambling in New Jersey apply to operators. They need to verify player identity, pay taxes and ensure data is secure and safely processed.

The bottom line is; as long as you’re of legal age (21) and in New Jersey, you can fire up an online poker tournament or cash game.

Borgata Poker uses the same software as PartyPoker NJ and shares the same pool too. They offer some no deposit poker bonuses, reload bonuses and 100% match deposit bonus schemes too.
They have flexible banking options including PayPal, Skrill, Visa, Mastercard and Bank wires. Withdrawal methods match deposit options.
Borgata is a massive brand and draw a lot of appeal. They don’t have massive traffic yet but they are a trusted poker site. You can’t play tournaments on their app but cash games are.
